Default lano-lustre's and castor oil

Has anyone heard of marc's lano-lustre? If so does it work? Has anyone tryed using castor oil to help with hair growth? I was thinking of using lano-lustre and mixing it with castor oil. I have four boys with very long hair and different textures. I want to be able to use the same products for all of them. Their hair types are 2a, 2a/b, 2b, 2b/c. My husband has a texture softner and I wanted to know if this is ok for him as well. I know my boys have very long hair, but I want to promote long lasting healthy hair growth until they are at that age (18), when they can decide for themselves. I don't want to be the mother that say I'm sorry boys for messing up your hair.
