Arrow Makeup Artist Christine Reynolds New Skin Care and Makeup DVD for Women of Color Land

Makeup Artist Christine Reynolds New Skin Care and Makeup DVD for Women of Color Lands National Distribution

New Skin Care and Makeup DVD
Christine Reynolds, Makeup Artist
Los Angeles, CA (BlackNews.com) - "A lady's makeup is as much a part of her wardrobe as her clothes - and right now, a lot of ladies are walking around half-dressed." So says makeup artist Christine Reynolds in her new DVD, MAKEUP AND BEAUTY SECRETS FOR WOMEN OF COLOR, released early this year. Beginning April 25, 2006, Christine's DVD goes on sale nationally. Video Distributor Tapeworm Inc. will distribute and make the popular "How to" DVD available for customers at major chain stores to include Best Buy, Circuit City, Sam Goody's Video Stores and several online video outlets such as Amazon.com and Borders Books. Tapeworm is one of the leading independent distributors of premiere quality home entertainment products.

Christine, the former National Trainer for Fashion Fair Cosmetics, is the owner of I Sparkle Cosmetics on Rodeo Road in Los Angeles. She created this DVD to teach women how to identify their skin types and care for their skin, as well as how to choose and apply makeup correctly - skills which, in her experience, too many women lack. "It's not about looking glamorous," Christine insists, "although there's nothing wrong with that. It's about looking right."
In the DVD, viewers watch as three untrained women receive step-by-step instruction from Christine: first, on how to care for their skin; then on professional makeup techniques for enhancing eyes, lips, and skin tone. "Skin care is who you are," observes Christine. "Makeup is who you want to be."
In the early 1970's, Barbara Walden, a cosmetics pioneer for women of color, discovered Christine in a downtown department store and made her a beauty advisor. By 1998, Christine had become Fashion Fair's National Trainer, traveling the country sharing with managers and beauty consultants not only what she knew about the craft and the products, but also about marketing and selling them.
She opened her own business in 2003, and she reflects now that "God was preparing me" by giving her so much, and such varied, experience. "He was putting me together."
Christine -- who is arguably her craft's own best advertisement -- has applied makeup on everyone from Will Smith (for a cover of Ebony) to deceased loved ones ("I knew how she would want to look.") She grew up in Compton, the daughter of a minister-father and a mother who "never wore a speck of make-up." At the conclusion of the DVD, women are encouraged to start over at the beginning; choose the products that are right for them; and follow along until they, too, are able to put on a new face in just 5 - 10 minutes. ("A little longer, if you apply eyelashes.")
